We join Business Week (3/26/07) and many other environmental periodicals and reports who believe, “there needs to be widely recognized standards as to what constitutes a valid offset.” WindRoads actively supports that goal.
And, Business Week also states, “Dubious offsets often encourage climate protection that would have happened regardless of the buying and selling of paper certificates.”
Each WTTV put on the highway by WindRoads will annually create 27 MW of new, renewable energy that would not have otherwise been created!
The New York Times (11/11/07) states, “…using online calculators buyers can determine their emissions, or they can just pick the national average carbon footprint which is about 20 tons a year per person according to the United States Energy Information Administration.”
Who We Are
WindRoads is a private, for profit company seeking contributions which provide donors with carbon offset certificates as evidence of their gift. Donations go towards the purchase of specialized Wind Turbine Transport Vehicles (WTTV's).
WindRoads, LLC comes from 100 cumulative years of high-level corporate and political leadership.
That leadership was honed and nurtured in the environmentally sensitive West, where everything from air and water quality to wilderness preservation have always been priority issues, for major corporations and political entities alike.
As a first step, we will purchase voluntary green renewable energy credits that will offset the carbon that is created as a result of operating our trucks. Thus operating the truck or trailer, that you contribute toward purchasing, will not create any new carbon emissions.
Secondly, we will purchase voluntary green renewable energy credits with 20% of your contribution to offset the carbon emissions that you are creating by living in your house, operating your vehicles, traveling away from your home, or other normal activities of any person on the planet. Imagine if everyone in the world did what you are doing!
The remainder of your contribution will be used to purchase Wind Turbine Transport Vehicles (WTTV's) to allow us to continue to expand the production of environmentally friendly electric power.
This is the way we do business, our mission is clear. Now we seek the ongoing support of consumers, political entities, energy providers, media and others to reach our goal.
